The ex-Coronation Street Star was helping to promote the Cheshire Show 2005. Jim is a farmers son and is well used to handling livestock!

Jim Doherty.... The Essex Pig Company. The first collection of pigs was inJuly 03. This was filmed and cut out of the tv programme! His second set of the Essex pigs was collected in October of the same year . His final group of in pig gilts were bought at auction in April 06 . That means with purchases of pigs from North Wales also that Jim has purchased the "full set" of Essex pigs required to keep an ongoing breeding programme to follow on the work of the Chapel herd and John Croshaw's Glascote herd. Optomen TV and top London Chef Lancastrian Marcus Wareing used Broad Oak and its Traditonal Breed Pigs for part of the new series for BBC TV of Great British Chef .

The programme goes out late March/ early April so watch out Marcus and the pigs.
